Enhance Your iPhone 4S Battery Life With Philips BatterySense


Apple faced a major setback with the bug in their new iOS 5 which seem to drain the battery in iPhone 4S dead. Strangely, it’s not clear whether it’s a software issue or a hardware glitch. iPhone 4S users and users who have updated their iPhone 4 to iOS  5 are the victims of these bug.

Apple has admitted to these flaws and is in the process of deriving a solution quickly. While Apple is getting the bug fixed, iPhone 4S users can try the new app from Philips called "BatterySense."

BatterySense by Philips is a simple and intuitive application. It helps you to get the most out of your device. It prompts you what to do and for how long in a very interactive way, thus helping you prolong the battery life on your device. BatterySense recommends what settings to adjust so that you continue what you are doing and also preserving the battery life. 


BatterySense shows you which application you can use and for how long, based on your current battery life. It also provides suggestions to preserve your phone’s battery life based on how long you want to use the application.

On the main screen of this application you can see some of the commonly used functions and the current battery life on your device. The commonly used functions visible on the main screen are:

  • Talk time
  • Internet use
  • Charge time
  • Audio playback
  • What if?
  • Video playback
  • Standby time
  • Game play
  • All data

 
The “What if?” feature provides an estimation of how much battery life you could achieve by changing some specific settings on your iPhone. Drag the “What if?” slider to the battery level you wish to achieve and BatterySense will recommend some changes to the settings for you to achieve the desired battery level.

Tweet and Update Status on Facebook and Google+ Using Siri


Siri is a serious stuff. Although it has had some arguments, it still has its implications. iPhone 4S users must have had a tough time with Siri not being able to tweet and update status on Facebook and Google+. Well, here is a trick that might just help.

The trick is through SMS using Twitter, Facebook, and Google+. This can be done once your profile is verified along with your mobile number. Then, you can text a certain number in your address book to start tweeting or quickly update status anywhere, anytime. Sounds complicated?? Don’t worry here is an easy guide to ease this menace.


 Update Twitter Using Siri:

  1. Login to Twitter.com. Once you have logged in, tap on “Mobile” under ‘Account Settings’ on your iPhone 4S.

 Note:  If you have Push Notifications already enabled on your Twitter application, make sure to uncheck the SMS Message Notifications.
  1. You will have to verify your iPhone 4S with Twitter’s SMS service. Type your number and enter the verification code that has been sent to you.
  2. Add the Twitter’s short code (40404) in your contact list like how you add a new contact {in this case Twitter’s short code (40404) is for US}. The short code might differ depending on which country you are in.
  3. Save the short code with an appropriate name in your contact list e.g., “Twitter”.
Tip: Click the link to find your Country’s Twitter short code.
    5.  Once the contact is saved, send a voice command over Siri. Siri will consider it as a regular message. Text what you wish to tweet. Check your tweets and updates, it must be done.




Update Facebook status Using Siri:

  1. Login to Facebook from on your iPhone 4S.

Note: The procedures are almost the same as with Twitter, except the Facebook short code.
  1. Verify your iPhone 4S with Facebook’s SMS service, following the same procedure as Twitter.
  2. Add Facebook’s short code (32665) in your contact list {in this case Facebook’s short code (32665) is for US}.
  3. Name it appropriately e.g., “Facebook”
  4. Send a test message to Facebook’s 32665 number. You will receive a reply message from Facebook.
  5. Follow the Link to complete the setup process.
  6. Now command Siri to “Send a text message to Facebook”. Update what you wish to. Check Facebook to confirm if your updates are done.

Update Google+ status Using Siri:

  1. Login to Google+ on your iPhone 4S. Under “Settings” and tap on “Set Delivery Preferences.”
  2. Enter your phone number.
Note: Click “Don’t Notify Me” Google+ messages on your iPhone.
  1. Verify your phone number with the code you received on your phone.
  2. Add the Google+ short code 33669 to your contact list. {in this case Google+’s short code (33669) is for US}.
  3. Name it appropriately e.g., “Google+ or Google Plus.”
  4. Now command to “Send a text message to Google+” over Siri. Update what you wish to. Check Google+ to confirm if your updates are done.
Note: Your updates will be shared to everyone in your circles.
