Finally, the wait is over!!! Samsung has confirmed October 19th as the launch date of Ice Cream Sandwich. After the release of the teaser video, the world was eagerly waiting for something BIG in the form of the Nexus Prime. Intensity rose after the launch was indefinitely postponed out of respect to Steve Jobs.

Google has referred Ice Cream Sandwich as its “most ambitious release to date”, and when Google says that there is certainly something up for grabs. As always rumors have its say, and if they are to be believed, Ice Cream Sandwich will have a holographic blend of Gingerbread and Honeycomb interface, in a blue palette. The new Android OS will have a stunning feature to turn your tablet into a USB hub, to easily connect your mouse, keyboard, and game controllers to it. Like other Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich will retain the incredible ability to multi-task, in a much refined manner.

Galaxy Nexus Prime is also said to have undergone some changes. A new set of APIs have been released to help developers to fit their applications to a wide range of display sizes. The camera has been enhanced to include face-tracking and panorama mode.

If things go as planned, we will get to taste the delicious Ice Cream Sandwich soon. The event is scheduled to take place at 10:00 A.M. HKT on October 19th, which according to EST will be 10:00 P.M. on October 18th. The world is waiting for something BIG, are you?
